HOW THE YOUTH BRIGADE OF THE NATION CAN HELP ALLEVIATE THE NATION OF ADULT ILLITERACY
Introduction
India is considered one of the potential superpowers of the world . But the literacy rate of India in 1947 is just 18% . After a very long period of reforms and policies, India reached the literacy rate of 77.70% .
Development of Adult Literacy
Kerala was declared a fully literated state in 1991 where 90% of people can read and write. This was because of the social reform of 20th century that allowed education for lower castes and women. Youths can take free tuitions for adults. They can teach their parents and grandparent if they are illiterate as "LEARNING HAS NO AGE BAR ". The present society only demands for literated people , so everyone should be educated. Youths can organise Adult Education programmes to spread importance of education. We can donate our books to the poor instead of throwing them. We can also donate exam boards, pen, pencil, eraser, sharper etc to a literacy charity.
Conclusion
The government should run many literacy charity free of cost to develop our country. The government should also donate a large amount of money to such centres. Until and unless the government enforces strict laws for compulsory education. Our country's literacy rate remains the same
